This was the hairstyle I dreamed of having for senior prom.
Hello everyone! Welcome to the official blog page of Hair House.  I can't believe the salon is 5 months old! It feels like a whirlwind.  After a few weeks of construction, we transformed what was a traditional, neighborhood 'beauty parlor' into a chic, boutique salon offering high-quality color and haircuts.  The reception from both the locals and my long-time clients has been so great.  But, I am not going to lie, it has been a scary yet exciting adventure.

Working at an upscale Manhattan salon for so many years has given me a confidence I could never imagine. Between the techniques learned, friends made and countless happy clients, I felt it was time to spread that joy a little further into my home borough of the boogie-down Bronx!

The Bronx is filled with so much culture, an abundance of people from every ethnicity, different working-class levels, food, hip-hop and of course, style.  We are a bit away from becoming "hipster", but Bronxites have an undeniable style that is uniquely their own.  And while the clothing trends may come and go, one thing is true, women, no matter where they are from, are always on the hunt for good hair.

I have had my fair share of hair faux pas.  For my senior prom, I went to a local salon and requested the 'Pantene' girl's luxurious up-do. It was a running campaign and she had a glamorous, full, shiny bun of curls atop her head. I, on the other hand, had a teeny, tiny bun of 3 curls that made my head look huge and my hair look thin. My hair to head size ratio was seriously off. My mother thought I looked great (what else is she supposed to say?) but I felt so uncomfortable.  I went straight home and rearranged the bun as best as my 18 year old self could.

What bothered me more than the mini bun on top of my head, was that  when I showed the stylist a picture of the style I wanted (it was printed, we didn't have cell phones then, ha!), he told me he would do just that. It totally wasn't 'that' when I schlepped home, ready to cry, on prom night 1999.

Fast forward to 2017, I still live in the Bronx but have worked almost 2 decades in Manhattan salons.  One of the most important lessons I learned in that time, was that consultations matter. I have friends who, to this day, still call me upset because their hair is completely different from what they told their local stylist they wanted.   It is our job to discuss the options our clients have, the reality of what they will get and to ultimately end up on the same page so that our expectations are in sync. There may be some time before the client receives the end result they imagine, so giving them a clear understanding of the process is a big factor in helping them achieve their hair happiness.

At Hair House, in the Bronx, we are pleased to bring that professionalism, communication and satisfaction to our clients, both old and new.  In the five months since our opening, we have already built relationships, guided clients down the right hair path for them and are in it for the long haul.

We welcome you to visit our blog regularly for stories, tips and transformations, as we bring 5th Ave. hair to the Bronx, for luxurious beauty at affordable prices.

xo,
Dana
p.s. I am pretty sure I burned all of my prom pics. If I ever find them, I will upload them for your entertainment!

Dana my first visit to you and Kay was such a treat. I wish I could come in every week, but trust I will be back as soon as I can. I for one appreciate that you guys don't feed your clients unrealistic expectations. After 30 years going to one salon I got tired of the inconsistency and of showing pics of how I wanted to look that never came to pass. I hope this is the beginning of a long relationship!

Dana. I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with the way my hair came out. You took the tinevtibtslk with me to see what I wanted and my hair came out beautiful. It is very refreshing to see that there are stylists out there who listen to their clients. My color is also amazing. Will definitely be back. I will recommend you to all my friends.

There are a number of important issues to consider when looking for a general contractor. You will obviously want to find a contractor who is best suited for the job, and you will also want to get a good price for quality work. Unfortunately, there are numerous challenges involved in finding a suitable contractor at the right price. In most cases, you will either end up with a general contractor who will charge you an arm and a leg for quality work, or a less than capable contractor who will give you a budget rate. That being said, there is a middle ground between these two extremes, and it is entirely possible to find a reputable contractor who will do a satisfactory job for you at a price you can afford.

This is very informative! Effective treatments for some types of hair loss are available, from nonmedical solutions to medications and surgery to promote hair growth and slow hair loss. It same as Haarlem Oil and Haarlem Oil for Human (www.horses-haarlem-oil.com/product-category/shop) made by French people in France very effective products also good for fighting against viruses. I love the journey of my research from this website. Hope you do more blog post here about health. Thank you and God bless.
